A Proud Moment for The Well Balanced Centre

Take the first step toward better health

Finalist for Service Excellence at the National Business Women’s Awards 2026

I am incredibly proud to share that I have been named a finalist in the Service Excellence category at the National Business Women’s Awards 2026.

This recognition is truly special. It represents not only my personal journey as a Physiotherapist, but the ethos, values, and dedication that sit at the very heart of The Well Balanced Centre.

For those who may not know me, my name is Lizzi. I have lived in Mid Sussex with my family for nearly 17 years. I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from King’s College London in 2005 and remain registered with both the HCPC and CSP. Over the past two decades, I have worked across both the NHS and private sectors with a particular focus on supporting older adults in acute and community settings.

For the last 14 years, my clinical work has centred on helping older people manage a wide range of orthopaedic and medical conditions with a specialist interest in falls prevention and balance rehabilitation. Alongside this, I have spent many years supporting individuals living with dementia, witnessing first-hand the profound difference physiotherapy can make in maintaining mobility, preserving independence and enhancing overall quality of life.

Why The Well Balanced Centre Was Created

The Well Balanced Centre was born from a simple, yet deeply important realisation: too many people were waiting too long to receive the care they needed.

During my time working within NHS community services, I saw the impact that delayed rehabilitation could have. What often began as a small, manageable issue could quickly escalate into a more significant challenge. Strength declined, confidence reduced and independence was often compromised far sooner than it needed to be.

I knew there had to be a better way.

The Well Balanced Centre was created to bridge that gap – to provide timely, responsive and highly personalised physiotherapy, delivered in the comfort and familiarity of a person’s own home. This approach allows care to be truly individualised, meaningful and directly relevant to each person’s daily life.

What Service Excellence Means to Us

Being named a finalist for Service Excellence is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the values that underpin everything we do.

At The Well Balanced Centre, Physiotherapy is about far more than treatment alone. It is about taking the time to truly understand each individual, listening with care and empathy and delivering support that fits seamlessly into everyday life.

For some, this means rebuilding confidence after a fall. For others, it may be helping them safely get up from a chair, move around their home with greater ease or feel more stable and secure when walking.

These moments may seem small, but they are often life-changing.

Every day, it is a privilege to support people in maintaining their independence, restoring their confidence and enabling them to live with the highest quality of life possible.

A Moment of Gratitude

To be recognised as a finalist at the National Business Women’s Awards 2026 is something I am incredibly grateful for.

It is a proud milestone for The Well Balanced Centre and a reflection of the passion and purpose that drives everything we do. Most importantly, it reinforces our ongoing commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality physiotherapy that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.
